The Liturgical Ministers Committee (LMC) of the Church of St. Francis Xavier are parishioners who have served in different liturgical roles. Members are Katherine Cleary, Luz Marina Díaz, Bob Lepisko, Gerry Moss, Ron Oberdick, and Stephanie Castillo Samoy.
Assignments are scheduled every three months. Before the schedule is finalized, an e-mail is sent to all liturgical ministers, requesting dates one can/cannot serve.
When the schedule is filled, Luz Marina Díaz makes sure each Mass has an equal number of women and men serving and changes it, if there is not. The schedule is then activated live in Ministry Pro Scheduler and e-mailed to all liturgical ministers.
When a liturgical minister requests a substitute on Ministry Pro Scheduler, an e-mail is sent to all liturgical ministers. The first person to respond gets the assignment.
Sometimes the balance between female and male liturgical ministers is not equal, though we do our best to make sure it is.
Ministry Pro Scheduler sends e-mails to liturgical ministers who do not show up for their assignments and did not ask for substitutes.
